RESTORING FAITH IN HUMANITY
I've been asked many questions the past few weeks from many different people regarding getting saved. Most people think that they can't ask questions. That's not true. If you don't know, please ask! If you are unsure if you are really saved, talk to someone. Not many people elaborate on being saved without being asked a direct question, so I'll just put this post out there.
You can always call or message me or I can come to you. If I don't know the answers to your questions, I'll find out the answer or point you in the right direction. I won't judge you or condemn you. Trust me, I have been there and I am still struggling to overcome many things in my life as well. I love Jesus and through Him, I also love you.
To answer at least a few of the most common questions I've heard or questions I have personally asked my Pastor or church family... No, you do not have to be perfect or change before you get saved. Come as you are. Romans 5:8 says "But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." God knows we are sinners. It's not a secret. He created us and gave us free will. It's our nature to sin. Even though God KNEW we would be lowly sinners, He loved us SOOOOO much that He sent His only son to pay for our sins through the blood of Jesus. Think about how much we love our own children. Now imagine how much God loves us if He would send His only son to pay for the sins of the whole world! Wow! Romans 3:23 "For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". There isn't one person sitting in a church anywhere that is not a sinner. You should not feel ashamed to come into church, no matter what is in your past. The Lord says in Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” It's that easy. Come to Him. Ask Him to forgive you of your sins and to live in your heart and be the Lord of your life. Once you do that you are free from your sins. Isaiah 1:18 “Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool."
After you are saved, you are not expected to be free of sin the second you open your eyes. That is something that many people fear that they can't live up to. What you don't know is that when you open your heart to God and accept Jesus Christ as your Savior, He draws near to you. If you keep Him close, changes will begin to take place. You don't get saved because you are changed, you change because you are saved. Before you are saved, you may fear change, but after you are saved, you will want to change. 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness".
There is so much burdening my heart today. I want to make sure that everyone I come in contact with sees Jesus in me. If I can lead one person to Christ then I have accomplished something in my life. More than anything I want to see all of my family and friends in Heaven and live with them for eternity! Don't wait on ANYTHING if you feel that pulling in your heart to pray that prayer of salvation. We aren't promised tomorrow. There are no exceptions even if you "meant to get saved" or "was waiting on someone else to be saved first". I just can't put it all into words how my heart feels today, but I'll start here and hope that this post finds the person/people for which God has intended.

Have you ever wondered what life is like through the eyes of a child? Face it, none of us remember what it was like to be 4 years old. Such an adventure!
I woke up with that all too familiar yearning to be creative. Little did I know that my creativity would spiral into the unknown. I was ready to do something amazing. But what? Hmmm... Well, I could... nah. There's... no that won't work. Then like most days that she sees me holding my camera, I hear a little voice, "Hey mommy! Can I take a picture?" I said, "Of course not. This camera cost more than the hospital bill from your birth." Wait. What? "Ummmm. Yes. Yes you can". I set the ISO, aperture, shutter speed, white balance, taught her how to hold the camera, gave her a quick tutorial on focusing (yes that's right) and let her go. Strap draped loosely around her little neck and tiny fingers feeling out all the buttons. Was the camera bigger than her head? Yep. Was it too heavy for her to hold? Almost. Did she know what she was doing? You couldn't tell if she didn't. Has she been watching my every move? Yes... Yes she has. She was bossy. She gave strict posing orders to her Barbies. She backed up. She moved in for the close ups. She laid on the floor to get the best composition. She got SUPER creative with her poses. She asked if she could "shoot" all day. She named her business... Yep. What can I say about this beautiful couple? They are two of the sweetest, most amazing people I know! Their day was gorgeous, from the vivid blue sky, white puffy clouds and warm glow of the sun throughout the day down to the cotton candy sunset after the ceremony. Not a moment of the festivities slipped by uncaptured as a plethora of camera equipment and film crews were on hand to mark every precious second. Enjoy this small preview of Mr. and Mrs. Kelly's most perfect day!
